My Plan For Winter Vacation

This winter, I will go to Harrison with my friends. After exams, I think it is a good choice to relieve my pressure so that I want to go to enjoy spring. I have been to Harrison on April, and it was not so expensive to rent a room. The rent was approximately 100 dollars every night with two bed rooms. Besides, Harrsion spring, I want to go shopping in downtown. In Christmas, every shop is going to have discount event, so I want to go shopping, especially I want to buy the products which I cannot afford buying, but I can afford to buy these products in Christmas. In addition, I want to continue to read more novels during the winter vacation. Novel reading is greatly good for English learning, so I think I would spend much time reading novels in order to improve my English Level. Overall, it should be a busy winter vacation because I have many plans.

My Favorite Trip

My favorite trip is America; I have been to Los Angeles this February with my mom. It is a beautiful place and I prefer going there again next year. I have been to Disney Land, and I bought many souvenirs. Disney Land is a place that every person likes going. There are two parts in the land; one is magical land, the other is adventure land. I wanted to go to adventure land at first because I like undergoing adventure; however, my mom was scared so that we went to magical land. Although magical land is suitable for children, and some people do not think it is a good choice for adults playing, my mom and I enjoyed playing it. There are many lovely cartoon figures in the land that people can take pictures with them. Besides the cute environment, my mom and I enjoyed creative programs which Americans provides us. In the end, I was greatly enlightening. America as the best country in the world, it is a creative country so it can obtain significant feebacks. I hope China can be the same in the future, although it still needs long way to go.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

This Wednesday, I watched a movie called Crazy Little Thing Called Love. It is from Thailand. Nam is a school girl who is not pretty. She likes the boy who is the most handsome and that boy studies very well, and then, Nam studies hard and tries to change herself. Through her snow white performance and concert, everyone in the school acknowledges her and begins to like her. After nine years study in America, Nam becomes a well known designer and she comes back to Thailand because of her work. Nam later has relationship with that boy, so it is a happy ending. There are three reasons that I like watching this movie. One is it motivates all kind of people. Although the story is happened in school, and it is not related to the family and the society, all kind of people can be greatly touched because of the successful plots. The second one is the movie helps people to know love can be beautiful. Without any depressed plots, people can entertain themselves and learn something that they haven't known before. The last one is the movies helps me have confidence to persure my life. I can have more confidence; consequently, I can achieve my goal. As a result, Crazy Little Thing Called Love is a great movie that I recommend all of you go to watch it, and you will not regret choosing watch it.

Research Paper and Novel

This week, our class is working on research paper, and I think it is a difficult task for all of us. The research paper requires many words and specific references. I am feeling challenging because I never wrote this kind of paper before. Although I wrote essay about 2500 words before, I still feeling much pressure this week. Next week, we also have two exams; one is essay about novel and the other is answering two questions from the novel. Kite Runner is my first adult novel; I was a lazy person before so that I didn't like reading any novel. For Michael recommended us Kite Runner is an excellent book that we might consider much in our life, I began to read from the beginning of this semester. In the novel, I have learnt that people should  cherish relationship betwen them and their friends; otherwise, they might be regretful. Although Amir is timid and selfish at first, he becomes to be brave when he has belief to save Sohrab. Overall, Kite Runner is a great novel that everyone should save their time to read.

Snowy Night

Last Saturday, I met with Yoyo to have a delicious meal. We ate dinner in Crystal Mall which is much far away from my home. At first, we scheduled to watch the film Harry Potter; however, there were so many people who bought the tickets in that night. As a result, we changed the plan to eat in Crystal Mall. It was a happy night because I ate spicy food again. Yoyo and me hope that we can watch Harry potter in the next weekend because our final exam is coming. After the next week, we have to spend much time on the textbooks and class materials.

Cultural Mysteries

During the process I am studying English, I met several things which are really confused. I think studying English is a way to learn about foreign culture. There are totally five mysterious phenomena that are interesting.

The first one is Canadian people and Chinese people would have different reaction when it is raining. For example, if it is raining, many Canadian people do not like using umbrella, and then they run quickly in order to avoid the wet raining water. However, almost all Chinese people prefer using umbrella when it is raining. As a result, I cannot understand the reason that most Canadian people do not like using umbrella when it is raining.

The second one is it looks true that most western people like family activities; however, some Chinese people do not like family activities at all. It is so obvious that the young generation in China like going out to entertain when they are free, but the young generation in Canada are more likely to stay at home in order to accompany with their families. Overall, the different culture causes different attitude between the young generation in Canada and the young generation in China.

The third one is parents in two areas usually have different kinds of attitude when they educate children. In china, it is not common to see that parents always choose to respect children's decisions so that children could be independently. Chinese parents do not always like the way that children could freely make their own decisions, oppositely, they prefer their children listening to them. Therefore, after I came to Canada, I felt the parents in Canada act differently.

The next one is Canadian people are not likely to hate crow; however, most Chinese people do not like crow because it is not a lucky symbol in China. In China, almost all people look crow as an ominous symbol so that it is impossible to see crow there.

The last one is if Canadian people talk with others, they should look at other people's eye in order to show repect; however, Chinese people do not need to act like that. It is quite casual that Chinese people talk with each other; therefore, I adjusted myself after I came to Canada because I could not accustom the formal environment when I talked to others .

The Effect Coming to Canada Had on Me

     I have lived in Canada for almost four years. Through these four years, I have changed a lots such as my interpersonal skill and independent skill. I was not an extroverted person and I seldom had urges to talk to others, but now I am sure that I am an extroverted person and I like talking to others. Moreover, when I lived in my hometown: Shanghai, I could not make a meal because I got used to wait for someone to cook for me and I seldom would like to make a meal for myself because I was entremely lazy. I also could not greatly take care of myself such as I was often sick and uncomforable. As a result, my mother thought it is worth for me to go abroad and receive a brand new life in order to improve my interpersonal and independent skill. The life in Canada is a new life for me since I changed to another character and I began to acknowledged that I should take the responsibility to take care of myself because I am an adult.

     After arrived in Canada, I was not happy at all because I thought I was aparted from my friends and most of my family members, but now I think it is a benefical way for me to start a totally different life in Canada. If I do not go to Canada, I cannot imagine that what kind of person I would like to be. Time continuously goes, I only wish I could contibute more efforts to myself and my family so that I could obtain more treasures that I would not gain in my hometown.

Movie Activity

I watched a movie called "Red" this weekend at home. It is a nice movie because Bruce Wills acted the movie. I should qualify that I'm a big fan of Bruce Willis especially when he plays this kind of character - a tough guy with a wry sense of humour. I am really interested at mixure of genres here because Red is an action, comedy and romance movie. Those mixture was rolled up into one movie. I think the movie is just enough romance without being sappy, heaps of action to keep it exciting and the occasional comedy touches which had the whole audience laughing out loud. When my friend and I watched it, we were enjoyable.

As a result, I recommend everyone in my class goes to watch this movie because it is worth to watch! Red is one of the best movies I’ve seen all year. I rarely see a movie that is action packed with funny and it has a great mystery behind it; consequently, I was amazed by the inspiring romantic couple. I can determine that lots of fans will not be disappointed.

Downtown Activity

     This week, I have not done many activities because I do not feel comfortable, but yesterday, I went out with Yoyo to eat Chinese spicy food. I enjoy eating spicy food because it is one of my habit. I enjoy eating food with my friends because I am a person who likes group activity. I also like communicating with my friends about our daily issues in the restaurants or some places that are comfortable. Eating with friends is one of my relief way. Yoyo and me ate at Chongqing restaurant which is not far away from my home. Chongqing is one of the province in China and it is famous for its spicy food. Although the food there is not quite same as Chongqing food, I like it very much because it is very delicious. I think I would go there again because I am addicted in Chinese spicy food.

      After eating food, we went to play billiards. Although I am not good at playing it, I spent a good time with Yoyo and her friend. At last, Yoyo's friend took off his clothes because he lost the game. The idea was thought by me, I was proud of myself to think about a funny idea!

About My Home town

      My home town is Shanghai, China. It is one of the famous commercial center in China. The people who are living in Shanghai have different life style compare to the people who are living  in Canada. The life pace in Shanghai is much quicker than Canada's. Most people who walk in the street are likely to run because most of them want to earn money and they want to make money as much as they can; however in Canada, there are not so many people that would run or jog like that. The goal between Shanghai and Canada is extremely different as well; many people in Shanghai want to survive because of the cheap labour, but in Canada, the living condition is generally good so that many people do not need to consider their economical condition.

       As a developing country in the world, China is developing fast but people in China may consume most of their time to make money; however, Canada as a developed and emigrant country, many rich and talent people live there. The different life style has shown that Chinese people need to consider their favourite way of living; otherwise, many of them may easily to lose their goal because of the serious competition.

PS: The pictures upper have shown many symbols in Shanghai. The old houses, old types of paper and fans have become remarkable symbols in Shanghai. The pictures were designed by one of my friend. I like them very much because they symbolize the tradition of Shanghai. I want to upload those pictures although they are not much related to my topic.

Different Kinds of Friends

Friends are necessary to our life. But it is also a hard topic for us to consider; we have to consider the complicated relationship, and try to ask questions such as which position do I put each one. It is also a crue topic because after we think about this question, we would make a result that there are not so many people who are our good friends. However, I think I have to think about the classifaction among my friends because I have to recognize that who treats me better. There are three kinds of friends in my life; they are my best friends, close friends and general friends.

There is only one person who is a girl is my best friend. We knew each other when we were in kindergarden. We also studied in the same elementary school so that we went to school together everyday. She is a mature and independent girl who could teach my many knowledge that I could not study in the text books. Spending time with her can enlightening me to know how to be an honest and responsible person. Besides, she is one of the earliest teacher I could learn from her when I was young. As a result, I think she is my most valuable friend because we have long time of foundation and we know each other more than we know our parents.

The next category is my close friends. Those are some people I can tell my secrets and we can discuss our secrets together. Making friends sometimes is not trying to gain happiness,but  it is a way for others to teach us some knowledge that we would not study in the textbooks. Making friends is also not a business trade. I am proud of myslef that I have made some close friends in my life; even some people could not find their close friends in their whole life.

The last category is my general friends. Those are some people who are my classmates; we spend much time to study together. Besides my classmates, for those people we have known each other for a long time, I am feeling some of them are only my general friends. Yesterday, I met a girl and we went to a halloween party. After the party, we supposed to go back home together; she left her car in my garage. However, the place where we tried to call a cab is so popular that we could not find a cab. She asked me to call a cab. but I said to her that I wanted to wait for more minutes. Then she was angry and ran away. After waiting in the street for an hour, I hesitated to call one of my close friend, finally he picked me up. He said he worried about me because I was dangerous when I was waiting for the cab. The story talks about the different attitude between a playing partner and a close friend, and I have also learned a lesson that never go out without a car in the night. Generally, in our whole life, we will meet so many people; however, we only have limited friends.

Introduction

      Hi, everyone! This is my new blog that talks about my experiences and stories in Canada. Although my teacher asked me to write blog, I like writing blog in my daily life. It is a way for me to express my own feeling. Besides, I can communicate with my friends easily. Canada is the second country I have lived in my whole life; it is a quiet and safe country. Everyone seems like enjoying the life here because of its extremely friendly and peaceful envionment.

      I like travelling and I have an ambitious dream after I graduate from college is to travel all over the world. My life in Canada is so busy that I can not spend so much time on travelling because of the limited time; however, I went to several places as short trips. I went to Victoria last summer; it is a quiet and beautiful place with lots of natual resources. I like Butchart Garden most since it is the most famous tourist attraction in Victoria. I was impressed by the floral displays. Here are some pictures I took last year:

Overall, Canada is my second mother country. I will continuously study in Canada in the next four years. I will also travel to other places in order to find the more beautiful places.
